Services

Having been through the diagnostic process, and knowing how isolating and difficult this can be, I can support you both pre and post diagnosis. I can also support you through family diagnosis, self diagnosis, and ADHD/Audhd diagnosis.

This may include looking at practical stressors such as navigating workplace accommodations and coping skills, or more internal difficulties such as autistic burnout, identity issues or masking. I hope to bring a human element to therapy, and believe that its an equal partnership, in which I offer empathy and safety, completely without judgement and with respect. I work within the knowledge that neurodivergence affects mental health in a very unique way, and therefore therapy may need to be adapted to accommodate these difference.

I have professional and personal lived experience with BPD/EUPD, anxiety, depression, self harm and meltdowns, and am LGBTQAI+ affirming; I can offer a completely safe space without pressure, in which to process these difficulties. I also work with trauma and abuse (my work is trauma informed), loss, shame, relationship difficulties and attachment issues.  I have specific interest in pre and post diagnosis support.

Working Pluralistically, I can incorporate elements of different approaches (see below), to best suit you and your needs. It is a fluid process, which depends upon how each session goes and what you bring. My training has a Person Centred underpinning, meaning sessions are client led and the number of sessions can be open ended.

Navigating these difficulties can be all consuming and exhausting, and it can be hard to ask for help. But often we need to in order to process and begin to heal, and unearth who we really are. If you think you’d like some support, contact me on the email address provided.

Theories

I trained as a Pluraistic therapist, meaning I can adopt various theories or ‘modalities’ in order to best suit the client (you). It has Person Centred underpinning, meaning the it is client centred therapy; the approach or techniques I use are completely determined by what you need and therapy is client lead. I will never push an approach on you. Therapy will consist of me providing you with a space without judgement, and I will endeavour to see the world through your eyes and experience. The relationship is extremely important in this type of therapy, as it helps facilitate personal growth and healing, and ultimately better mental health and coping skills. This can help you reach authenticity and autonomy, or be in control, coping with challenge.

Some of the skills I may use are derived from:

Acceptance and Commitment therapy (ACT)

Dialectical Behaviour therapy (DBT)

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) - although this may not be useful for some neurodivergent clients.

Attachment theory

Transactional analysis

Psychodynamics

Psychoeducation

Body work

Internal Family Systems

I may use my own knowledge and professional and lived experience of neurodivergence in order to support you to process your own experiences and difficulties. I have helped others explore whether they may be autistic or ADHD, and supported them in facing the difficulties that can come with a late diagnosis.

I’ve worked as a therapist as part of low cost counselling organisations, and strongly believe that therapy should be accessible. I offer a specific amount of low cost sessions, to people on low income.

Sessions cost £50 and last 50-55 minutes. I offer an initial free 20 minute video call to allow you to get a feel of how I work and who I am.

Please contact me to arrange an appointment, to enquire about low income sessions, or with any questions you may have.
